The thrill and vibrancy of this historic event is returning to Auckland’s waterfront in 2021 after Emirates Team New Zealand won the Cup in Bermuda in 2017. The excitement is already building and will culminate in the America’s Cup Match in March 2021.
Auckland aims to stage a successful event and defence of the Cup, with some exciting racing, a great village atmosphere, and the opportunity to showcase New Zealand and its innovative sectors on a global stage.
The agreed racing schedule for the America’s Cup Match has two races per day planned for March 6,7,10, 12, 13, 14 and 15. Additional reserve days have been scheduled but the intention is to complete the event on the weekend of March 13/14, weather permitting. Racing is planned from 4pm onwards each race day. The winner of the America’s Cup Match will be the first team to score seven points.
